Tom,You're my go to blog for info on the Active E and Megacity. I know its several months away but I'm starting to get excited! I'm hoping for a longshot that I can keep the Mini-E at a reduced price and then also get the Active E. My wife has told me the Active E will be hers and I really don't want to go back to gas.Peder
Peder,Thanks! I try to keep it as up to date as possible. While I wouldn't bet on being able to keep the MINI-E because of servicing, I wouldn't completely rule it out. When I recently spoke to a BMW employee about the future of the cars I was told that they really don't know what to do with them. They have proven to be better cars than they even expected them to be so they now have to figure out what to do. I asked him about selling them to us if we wanted to buy them and that was ruled out. It goes back to servicing them, they do not have the parts or technicians to fix them long term without it costing a lot of money. I said what if we were to sign a waiver that we would be responsible for servicing them ourselves and was told that they couldn't legally do it. They are compelled by law to service the cars they sell and a waiver of contract wouldn't relieve them of that obligation.
I know that's just a sketch but it looks like it is real. That has to be an early concept, I doubt it will look anything like that
